About Percolate: Business Tycoon
One café in Lisbon. Ten cities waiting. One empire to build.
Percolate is a business tycoon and business simulator, a management game about growing a company one decision at a time. Start with a single café and expand into eleven trades across ten European and American cities. Every week you decide where to open, what to sell, what to charge, whom to hire and how to fund the next step.
You set the pace. The clock starts paused: speed it up or stop it and plan. An event that needs your decision stops time, and the game then stays paused until you press Play. No avatar to walk around: you run everything from the map and your management screens.
Eleven trades, eleven ways to make money • Cafés: kiosk, café, drive-through or flagship, with your own drink recipes and roastery. • Bakeries: you choose what the ovens bake; whatever doesn't sell is wasted. • Minimarkets: range, shelves, checkouts and shoplifting security. • Restaurants: kitchen, dining room and service set how many covers you serve; formats include Fast food. • Hotels: rooms over several floors, rates and bookings. • Gyms: members sign up on their own, drawn by price, equipment and quality. • Electronics: products that age and give way to new generations. • Boutiques: collections, seasons and sizes. Hairdresser, Bank and Night club come with the expansions. Unlock new trades at the Business School with a course paid from company cash. On supported devices, staff and customers move around live 3D interiors.
Five expansions (Full game required) • Real Estate: lease out or sell your buildings, or build on free plots with a permit and works. • Bank: run a branch with deposits, consumer loans, accepted credit grades, tellers and staff. • Hairdresser: a barber shop or a salon, with chairs, services priced one by one, staff and a manager. • Night club: DJ, soft-drink bar, door and bar staff, open Thursday to Sunday evenings. Brings day and night to the whole map. • Prison: an optional legal risk: tax risk, investigation, trial and custody for the founder, every case in the Dossier.
Ten cities, ten markets Lisbon, Krakow, Lyon, Rome, Madrid, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, London and New York each have their own isometric map with districts, landmarks, rivers and parks. Rents, wages, prices and footfall change from city to city, and a better address never guarantees a profit. Filter premises by floor area; new cities open as you grow and pay their entry fee.
Run a company, not just shops Hire managers and executives, delegate city by city, run warehouses and a delivery fleet, and order from a network of producers. Loans, taxes and full accounts keep score; company money stays separate from your own.
A world that pushes back Rival chains cut prices, poach your managers and can be bought out. Booms and slumps, city laws and elections, strikes and inspections that demand a decision, and a monthly newspaper that reports it all. Profit is never guaranteed.
Beyond the shops Trade shares, take your company public, buy a football club and invest at the yearly startup fair. When the time comes, retire your founder and give your next career a small head start.
Make it yours: 20 characters (10 women, 10 men), your company's logo and colours, four difficulty levels and five scenarios.
Free for the first 5 game years Every career is free for its first five game years (260 game weeks). Then the clock stops until you buy the Full game, one purchase that lets you play past year five, adds unlimited producer trips and the complete Founder's Archive, and covers all your careers.
